Build your own engineering tools
OpenEngineering is a platform for building the engineering tools your team needs. Describe your programme, define its objects and relationships, and shape the views people use to work with them.
The goal is to let you vibe-code your own Product Lifecycle Management, requirements, project management or other engineering tool on a common branchable, secure data plane – a single source of truth for your engineering work. People and agents work through the same platform, which provides identity, permissions, validation, history and change control.
One model, many tools
Section titled “One model, many tools”A part in your product structure can connect to its requirements, verification evidence, risks and the work needed to deliver it. Each tool presents a useful slice of that model. A change made through one view is a change to the same underlying object that another view reads.

Your team defines the vocabulary. Start with requirements and verifications, or model parts, interfaces, suppliers, test campaigns and programme work.
Start with the Quickstart to explore Demo World and review your first branch-based change.
Build on rails
Section titled “Build on rails”Configure your engineering model and views, and extend them through the CLI and SDK. The platform owns the shared data and authorization rules. Every caller uses those rules, including custom integrations and agents.
Build your engineering tool explains the path from an idea to a connected model.
Explore alternatives safely
Section titled “Explore alternatives safely”Branch your engineering data, work on a design alternative, compare the changes, and merge the work your team accepts. Protected work follows that review path.
Learn about branching and change control.
Agents for building and doing
Section titled “Agents for building and doing”Use agents to help design and configure your ontology and views. Use an object agent to answer questions and make proposed changes in everyday engineering work.
Start from a blank model with Bootstrap a tool with an agent, including initial views and linked demo data.
Bring your own app
Section titled “Bring your own app”Build and host a specialised interface using the platform SDK and authentication. Its engineering data lives on the same data plane.
Host your own app (experimental). Backend service-identity integration is available; delegated sign-in for individual app users is still planned.
